ARTDOORS was chosen to be used as inspiration at Cop 17 in South Africa together with Phoenix Design Aid and Randers Rain Forest.

UNEP has invited ARTDOORS to present the project on their  stand in Hamburg this week.

On behalf of all the participants in this project it is an honor to tell about our effords to help the environment and hopefully inspire more companies and individuals to participate.

Unnis ARTDOOR replaces Fie Baumanns ARTDOOR . Fies ARTDOOR is full of wonderful greetings from tourists who were sailing in Aarhus during Sculpture By The Sea and now it is time to replace it because there is no space left to write anymore. And we find it proper to let Norway be represented . Later this year Unni and lots of other artdoors will be represented outside Denmark . this will be announcet here later, so make sure to get back to this site

Thursday the 21st of July 2011 a new artdoor will arrive from NORWAY!
The artist Unni Rasmussen has send these thoughts with her artdoor :

The giver of the door wants to be unknown and I respect that. In fact
I don’t know who that person is, but I’m very greatful.

Info : The door has been stored in a museum and dated to approximately
1890.

My thoughts:

I had no idea of what to paint on this solid wooden door after
scraping and grounding it. So, I just started standing in front of it
with my palette and brushes.

A kind of threatening cloud, the sky, a peaceful scenery.

Water is essencial and so are trees.

Without forests – no clean air…..

Then I realised I was actually painting a door. Hmmmm…

Nature will benefit of us not ruining it……

We won’t survive without nature…..

Who are we? The children!

The girl is inside wishing to be outside and enjoy the grass, flowers,
birds ( I grew up more or less in the woods during winter and by the
seaside in summer…SO priviliged!)

What’s the key to open the door, a handle or the actual key?

I had great pleasure of painting this door from imagination and
thoughts, based on self experienced joy of nature. I’m happy for the
opportunity to donate it to artdoors.dk!

When transported to the Gas Museum in Denmark, I pray that someone
finds it in their heart to buy it and thereby be a part of rescuing
the threatened forests.

OPEN THE DOOR FOR CHILDREN AND THOSE NOT YET BORN INTO OUR BEAUTIFUL,
PRECIOUS WORLD……
